Miya Kumo primarily works with lost wax carving, a traditional technique that involves building a mould around a sacrificial wax model.
after the mould investment is set, the wax is melted out to form a cavity where Miya uses silver and gold to capture every fine detail.
each piece is painstakingly carved by hand. every pendant and ring is unique and cannot to be replicated once cast from the melted wax
Through these traditions methods, Miya explores themes of illusion, duality, and nature - drawing inspiration from fairytales, toys and miniature figures.
